The Ontario government recently announced changes in ministerial responsibilities, resulting in a new name and expanded duties for the Ontario Ministry of Labour. Now called the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development, its mandate is expanding to include training, apprenticeships and Employment Ontario. The ministry will continue to oversee occupational health and safety, employment rights and responsibilities, and labour relations.

Monte McNaughton is the current Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development.
