A special pre-apprenticeship program for horticultural technicians will provide an opportunity for women, thanks to provincial funding from the Ontario Women’s Directorate. The Honourable Deb Matthews, Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues, made the announcement recently at Humber College.
MicroSkills will provide pre-employment preparation, while Humber and Landscape Ontario will deliver the horticulture curriculum. LO will also take key responsibility for work placements. About 20 women will benefit from the training opportunity this summer.
