The Domestic Phytosanitary Certification Program (DPCP) is a voluntary clean-stock nursery program developed by the Canadian nursery industry.  This program is for producers who sell their nursery stock to domestic markets.

Register now and take advantage

  • Lower registration cost in 2008.
  • Financial assistance for preparing your manual.
  • Financial assistance for initial audits.

The 2008 DPCP workshops are funded through Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Advancing Canadian Agriculture and Agri-Food Program. The program helps to offset workshop registrations in 2008 and manual preparation and initial audits until March 31, 2009.

By participating in the DPCP program, your nursery:
  • proactively manages its risk to exposure to quarantine pests
  • implements a planned systems approach to managing quarantine, regulated and non-regulated pests
  • demonstrates to your customers and government agencies that you have done your due diligence to manage quarantine, regulated and non-regulated pests.

How does your nursery become certified?

1. Register for a two-day winter workshop
      January 16-17, Milton
      January 23-24, St. Catharines
      January 30-31, Bowmanville
      February 5-6, London
The winter workshop will assist in understanding the DPCP program and in preparing the DPCP manual.
2.   Submit a completed manual to the Canadian Nursery Certification Institute (CNCI). The DPCP manual gives details on how to meet the program’s requirements.
3.   Once your manual is complete and reviewed by the CNCI, your nursery is audited annually by an accredited third party.
